Some projects call for more than a standard netting layout. NETServices designs and installs custom barrier netting, habitat enclosures, pond protection and specialty scrim systems. We also provide installation support for suspended net sculptures and architectural installations.

Hatchery Pond Netting & Bird Exclusion
Pond netting helps limit bird access at hatcheries, aquaculture facilities and other water areas. The layout needs to account for the pond shape, support locations, working clearances and the access staff need for daily operations.

Zoo Habitats & Aviary Enclosures
Habitat netting and stainless steel mesh must suit the species, enclosure layout and operating needs of the zoo. Visibility, overhead coverage, gates, attachment points and maintenance access all influence the design.

Scoreboard Scrim & Specialty Screening
Large-format scrim can add branding, screen structural elements and create a finished appearance around scoreboards and venue structures. Installation requires attention to fit, tensioning, attachment locations and access at height.
Our Dallas Cowboys Stadium project included AT&T-branded scrim on the suspended scoreboard structure. This work brings together specialty materials and installation planning in a highly visible setting.
Suspended Art & Architectural Installations
Netting can also become part of an artwork. NETServices provides installation support for suspended net and fiber-based sculptures, coordinating field work with the artist, contractor and engineering team.

Her Secret Is Patience — Phoenix
NETServices provided installation support for Janet Echelman’s Her Secret Is Patience, a suspended net sculpture in Phoenix, Arizona. The project shows how netting expertise can support an artistic vision as well as a practical containment need.

Planning a Specialty Netting Project
Start with the purpose of the system, approximate dimensions and photos or drawings of the site. Identify any existing supports, access restrictions, maintenance openings and requirements supplied by your design or facility team. NETServices can help evaluate the installation approach and coordinate design and structural engineering requirements.
Can a system fit an unusual shape or existing structure?
Often, yes. The layout and attachment approach need to be developed around the structure and the intended use. Existing supports should be reviewed for suitability before relying on them for a new netting or scrim system.
How do you choose between netting, mesh and scrim?
The application comes first: excluding birds, containing animals, screening a structure and installing an artwork have different requirements. Material selection also considers the environment, visibility, attachment method and maintenance access.
